Roman blinds can be designed in different ways. A unique design can accompany any windows in the home. They are pretty straightforward to create and this will give any house a special feel.

Measuring the window is the first step. Use a tape measure from inside the window across to the other side and as far down as desired. After the preferred dimensions are acquired, the next step is buying the fabric. This fabric can be whatever the design of the home dictates.

Cut the material to the necessary amount; make sure to add a few inches to each side for the seam. Then use a flat surface to spread out the garment. After that fabric is shaped, it is time to cut out the lining with the exact same measurements. Connect the lining and the fabric together with a pin, evenly. Sew those together then it is time for the ruffles.

Measure out strips of the fabric equally. Cut the slips of lining a few inches wide make sure to cut length wise instead of across. Bend every strip half way, meeting the raw edges. Stitch one side together. Then repeat the process and stitch the other side as well.

Manually sew small plastic rings to the outer blind. Sew the string cords through the rings evenly. Trim all the unnecessary material. Then sew the rod securely to the material. Add a draw sting for bringing the blinds up and down. Screw the finished blind into the window frame.
