How to install ceramic tile
Home improvements can be completed without the need for expensive installers. Ceramic tile can be installed trouble-free and quickly. Adding a trimming to any home can make the property worth more or just make the home to look better. There is many places inside the home that ceramic tile can be placed; flooring, counter tops and shower walls.
Before the project is started, we must understand what type of floor is being used. Some wood floors can sweat and swell, which will cause the tile floor to be uneven and dangerous.
Cutting the tile is the most difficult part in the project. A tile-cutting machine is needed. Some hardware stores may have this tool for public use for a fee. These machines are designed to hold measurements if more than one tile of the same size needs to be sliced. Exact measurements need to be taken before the tiles can be fitted. When starting to carve the material, hold the saw firmly and make slow, even slices.
The first step is to remove the old tile. Once that has been removed, next is to sand the floor. As soon as it is completely smooth, chalk outlines need to be measured out. This is to help with the evenness of the tiles.
Start at the corner of the floor working around the outside. Between each piece of tile put a thin line of grout to hold them together. Place them next to each other evenly. Then wipe off spill out from the grout on top of the tiles.
